Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ford Expedition- Video

Today on our 2014 Ford Expedition, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Titan, a tilting 4-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number S63410. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up the pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down with our wrench. In this position, you'll have about 21" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Expedition is about 5-1/2", and overall we've added about 20-1/2" to the length of the vehicle. Pulling the black lever at the base of the mast will allow us to tilt it away from our Expedition. As you can see, this does give us full access into our rear hatch. more

SportRack Super EZ Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ford Expedition- Video

Today on our 2014 Ford Expedition, we're going to be test fitting the SportRack Super EZ Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SR2901LR. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down with a wrench. In this position, you'll have about 20-3/4" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 7-3/4", and overall we've added about 26-3/4" to the length of our vehicle. Pulling the two black outside pins on the rear of the rack will allow us to fold down our wheel cradles, and by pulling the center pin, located on the center mast, we can tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see in this position, it does give us full access to our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position, let's go ahead and check the ground clearance. It's changed slightly, as you can see, here at the rear of the rack, we now have about 23" worth of clearance. more

Removing the silver pins at the top of the rack will allow us to swing out our dual cradle arms. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Expedition we're going to be test fitting the Saris Axis, a tilting three bike rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number SA843B. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch we'll then thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with a wrench. We'll secure it using the provided lock. In this position we'll have about eighteen and a quarter inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about six and three quarters of an inch and overall we've added about fifteen and three quarters of an inch to the length of our vehicle. Pulling the yellow t-handle at the base of the rack allows us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see here this will gives us full access to our rear hatch. more

Pulling the black pin and clip at the base of the mast will allow us to tilt the bike rack away from our vehicle, and as you can see, this does give us full access to our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll extend our dual cradle arms. We'll do this by loosening the two black knobs, extending our arms into the appropriate slot, and re-secure with our knobs. more

Today on our 2012 Ford Focus we will be test fitting the Saris Axis 3-bike rack for 1 1/4 and 2-inch hitches, part #SA843B. Let's get started by sliding the shank of the bike rack onto the receiver. Next we'll line up our pin holes and thread in the anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with a quick turn of the wrench. Be sure to add your lock to the other side of your bolt. With the bike rack now in place you'll see you have a ground clearance of about 9 inches, the closest point from the back of the Focus to the rack is about 6 inches and the overall length added to the back of our car is about 16 inches. As you can see here, by pulling the yellow T handle at the bottom of the mast, the rack tilts back. You can see here there's plenty of room to access your hatch. more

To access the rear hatch, we can pull the three black pins at the base of the bike rack and tilt the wheel cradles down as well as the mast. As you can see, we can easily gain access to the rear hatch. more

Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. Well thread in our anti-rattle bolt and then tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured well go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 14 inches of ground clearance. Today on our 2007 Ford Explorer we'll be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro folding, tilt-in four bike rack with anti-sway, part number TH934XTR. We'll begin our test fix by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch. We'll line up the pin holes and thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with a wrench. Now we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 18 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our Explorer is about 9 inches. We have added about 18 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. We will pull the pin at base of the bike rack and allow it to tilt away from our Explorer, this gives us full access to our rear hatch. With the mast back in it's upright position and the pin reinstalled, we will pull the pin at the top of our mast to swing out our dual arms. With these out, we have added about 39 inches to the overalllength of our Ford Explorer. more

To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch and allow the attached pin to fall into place. We'll then use the hand knob to secure the bike rack to the vehicle and engage our anti-rattle device. Now we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about nineteen and a half inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our vehicle is about three inches. We've added about fourteen and a half inches to the overall length of our Ford Explorer. We'll pull the lever at the top of the mast to swing out our dual arms. With these out, we've added about thirty-nine inches to the overall length of our explorer. We'll undo the cradle straps to exposure our cradles, grab our bike, place it into the frame cradles, and secure it by tightening each strap. Now we'll move to the back side of the mast and loosen up the T-handle. more

We've added about 12 inches to the overall length of our Ford Explorer with the bike rack in its folded position. We'll pull the pin at the base of the bike rack and allow it to tilt away from the rear of our vehicle. This gives us full access to our rear hatch. With the mast back in its upright position and the pin reinstalled, we'll pull the pin at the top of the mast to swing out our dual arms. With these out we've added about 37 inches to the overall length of our Ford Explorer. We'll undo the cradle straps to expose our cradles. We'll grab our bike, place it onto the frame cradles and secure it by tightening each strap.
