Today on our 2013 Ford F-150 we're gonna be doing a test fit of the Softride Element Parallelogram. This is gonna be your hanging style, 4 bike rack with a tilting feature and a 2 inch shank for your 2 inch hitches only. It'll be part number SR26248. And as you can notice, it does have two setting points to where you can either go further out from your bumper or closer in. We're gonna go ahead and insert into our 2 inch receiver that we have here today and line up our pinholes. For demonstration purposes, we're gonna go all the way in, as close we can. So we'll go into the farthest pinhole so we can see what kind of clearances we have. All right, once we have it in as far as we can, go ahead and insert your anti-rattle bolt. more

Today on our 2013 Ford F150, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Swagman XTC4, this would be your platform style 4 bike rack that comes with a 2 inch shank for your 2 inch hitches only. Be part number S64665. We're going to go ahead and get it fitted onto our truck that we have here today. Insert your shank into your receiver and line up your pin holes. Once you have your pin holes lined up, we'll go ahead and insert our anti rattle bolt by removing the lock and then placing the anti rattle bolt into your hole, threading it in as far as we can by hand and then following it up with a 7/8 inch socket to tighten it up the rest of the way. The socket, anti rattle bolt is going to help to get rid of a lot of the play, rattle and wobble that you may have inside your bike carrier. more

You'll then push it in until the pin clicks into place, and you can tell from the green indicator marker here. Now, we'll go ahead and tighten up the anti-rattle device. This helps to take any play out of the shank of the rack. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the Saris Thelma 3-bike platform-style rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SA4239B. To begin our test fit we'll insert the shank of our rack into the hitch of our vehicle. Once that's inserted you'll want to watch for the pinholes to line up. With your pinholes in line we'll go ahead and and take the included threaded anti-rattle hitch bolt and thread that into place. Once we have that hand tight we'll go ahead and take our wrench and tighten down the rest of the way. Doing this helps to remove any extra added movement in the shank. more

We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of our rack into our receiver hitch on our vehicle. You want to watch for the pin holes to line up. Once that is in line you can go ahead and take the threaded anti rattle hitch bolt and thread that into place. Once you have that hand tight, you can go ahead and take your wrench and finish it off the rest of the way. Once that is tighten down, you can go ahead and snap your lock onto the other side. We'll go ahead and we'll get a few measurements here. more

Today on our 2005 Ford F150 Super Crew Cab we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" inch hitches part number TH9029. Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch. Line up our pin holes and thread in our anti-round a bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack in this position it's going to give us a ground clearance of about 17" inches. The closest front 00:00:33 of the bike rack to the rear of our F150 is about 4" inches and over all we've added about 14" inches to the overall length of our vehicle. Pull the lever at the top of the mast to swing out our dual arms. With these out we've added about 43" to the overall length of our F150. If we pull the lever at the base of the bike rack we can tilt the bike rack away from the vehicle. more

Today on our 2005 Ford F150 Super Crew Cab, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 bike rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number TH9025. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll allow the attached pin to fall into place and then use the hand knob on the shank to engage our anti rattle device and secure our bike rack to our vehicle. With the bike rack in this position its going to give us a ground clearance of about 17 inches. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our Ford is about 2 inches here at the hand knob and we've added about 13 inches to the overall length of our F150. We'll pull the lever at the base of the bike rack to allow it to tilt away from the vehicle. This is going to allow us to have full access to the bed of our truck by being able to fully open our tailgate. more

The closest point of the rack to the back of our truck is about 8 inches away and overall we've only added about 18 inches to the length of our F150. Pulling the gold pin at the base of the center mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see this gives us full access to our tailgate. more

Today on our 2005 Ford F150 Super Crew Cab, we are going to be test fitting the Sport Rack Super EZ Platform style 2 bike rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number SR2901LR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch. We'll line up our pin hole and thread in our anti rattle bolt, tightening it down with the wrench and then installing the lock on the other side. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our vehicle is about 10 inches away and we've added about 31 inches to the overall length of our F150. We'll go ahead and pull the pins at the base of the bike rack to unfold the different parts including our center mast. Within this position, it's going to allow us to have full access to our tailgate. We'll raise up the center mast to make sure that all 3 pins are reinstalled. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up our pin holes we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it down using a wrench, and then secure with a clip on the other side.With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. Closest part of the bike rack to the closet part of the vehicle is about 2 inches away and we've added about 12 and a 1/2 inches to the overall length of our Ford. 3We can now remove the gold pin at the base of the bike rack and fold down the platform. With the platform down we have about 15 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 3 inches away and we've added about 36 inches to the overall length of our edge. With the platform down you can see that we do have access to the rear hatch. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Edge, we'll be test fitting the Softride Hang2 Hitch Mounted 2-Bike Rack, part number SR27041. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down using the wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 11" of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 2-3/4" away, and we've added about 21" to the overall length of our vehicle. To load up a bike, we'll need to remove the two silver pins at the top of the mast. This will allow us to swing the top bar of the bike rack out. When unfolding the top bar of the bike rack, you want to make sure that you keep a steady hold on it, as it could slide back and hit the back of your vehicle. After lining up the holes, we'll then re-insert the silver pin to secure it in place. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Edge, we'll be test fitting the Saris Axis, Aluminum Hitch Mounted, Hanging 3-Bike Rack, part number SA843B. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening the hitch. After lining up our pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. You then secure the lock on the other side. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about four and a half inches away and we've added about 13 inches to the overall length of our Ford. We can now lift up on the yellow levers on the upper left and right hand corner of the back rack. This allows us to slide the arms off the grooves, onto the smooth part and raise the cradle arms up. more

However, when manipulating the rack, we couldn't get it to make contact. Overall, we've added about 11 inches to the length of the Taurus. Pull the grey lever located at the base of the center mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. more

Overall weve added about 14-1/4 inches to the length of the Taurus.Pulling the gold pin at the base of the center mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see, this gives us great access onto the trunk. more

Overall we've added about 23" to the length of our Taurus. Pulling the two black pins located on the outside here at the rear of the rack will allow us to tilt down our wheel cradles. more

Pulling the two silver pins at the top of the mast will allow us to swing our handlebar cradles up into position. We'll then reinsert both pins to hold it in place. more

Overall we've added about 9-1/2" to the length of the Taurus. Pulling the gold pin and clip at the base of the rack will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle into its platform position. more

Today on our 2012 Ford Escape we're going to be talking a look at the Kuat NV, a platform-style 4-bike tilting rack. Now they've designed this for use in 2" hitches and chrome part number is N105-107. We also have this in a gun metal gray and orange; that part number is N101-103. To begin our test fit we need to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we want to line up our pinhole here with our hitch pinhole. We'll then slide through the provided pin and secure it on the other side with our provided lock. It just slides right on the end. Now that we've got our pin in place we're going to turn the black knob that's located here at the rear. more

Lifting on the yellow ring at the base of the center mass will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see this gives us great access into the trunk. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll now pull up on the yellow ring located at the top of the mast. more

Saris Axis 3 Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ford Taurus

Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus, we will be test fitting the Saris Axis three bike rack for 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number SA43B. We will start by sliding the shank of the rack into the hitch. We'll line up the pin holes, thread in the anti-rattle bolt from driver to passenger side, tighten it down with a wrench and secure it with a lock on the other side. With the rack installed in this position, we have roughly 10 inches of ground clearance. The nearest point from the rack to the bumper is just about 3 1/2 inches and we've added almost 13 inches of overall length to our Taurus. To extend the arms, go ahead and clip the quick release tabs and unscrew them just a little bit. more
