Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche we're going to do a test fit of the Yakima Full Tilt. This is a folding and tilting 4 bike rack. They've designed it for use with 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is Y02462. This is also available in a 5 bike configuration if you prefer that. Part number is Y02463. The thing that really stands out about the Full Tilt is this is going to be a complete tool free installation, but we have an anti-rattle device built right in. We'll place our thumb on that. Slide it into the receiver tube of our hitch. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to do a test fit on the Swagman XTC4. This is a 4-bike platform style rack, designed to tilt up against your vehicle when not in use. Part number on it is S64665. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We need to slide it in far enough to line up our thread hole with our hitch pinhole. Now that we have those in line with each other we're going to take our anti-rattle bolt which is provided, we're going to thread that in. With it just hand tight, you can see there's still some play and some movement to our rack so now we'll take our wrench and tighten that bolt down. As we do this it draws the shank of the rack over against the receiver tube. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Today, on our 2013 Chevy Silverado, we'll be test-fitting the Saris Freedom hitch-mounted, platform style, 4 bike rack for 2 inch hitches, part number SA4414B. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it down using a wrench and then secure it with a clip on the other side. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. With the platform folded up, you can see that we have about 16 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 8 inches away. We've added about 19 inches to the overall length of our Silverado. We can now pull back on the gray foot pedal and allow the platform rack to tilt down. more

Today on our 2013 Chevy Silverado, we'll be test fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram Tilting Forward Bike Rack for 1-1/4- and 2-inch hitches. Part number SR26248. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread on our anti rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. Now I went ahead and threaded the anti rattle bolt in the hole closest to the mast of the rack. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 2-1/2 inches away and we've added about 11-1/2 inches to the overall length of our Chevy. We can now remove the two silver pins and clips on the upper left and right-hand corner of the mast. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it down using a wrench and we can secure it with the lock on the other side. With the back rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We've got about 15 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the back rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 7 inches away. We've added about 16 1/2 inches to the overall length of our Chevy. We can now go ahead and flip up the yellow levers on the upper-left and right-hand corner of the mast. We'll slide the arms over on to the smooth portion of the rack, tilt the arms up and then slide it back over into the grooves. more

Today, on our 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex, 4-bike rack for 1 1/4 and 2-inch hitches, part number TH9029. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on our vehicle. You'll want to watch for the hitch pinholes to line up. With that in line, you can take the included threaded anti-rattle hitch bolt and thread that into place. We'll get this hand tight and then we'll finish it off with a wrench. Tightening this down is going to take any extra play out of the shank of the rack which is going to help eliminate movement over all as we're going down the road. The closest part of the rack to the vehicle is going to be here at the back of the base to the bumper. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe, we are going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow N Go 3 Bike Rack for 2 inch ball mounts part number HR135. We've mounted our Traveler to a hidden hitch, extra long shank ball mount part number 80232, this is sold separately. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the ball mount into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, slide through our pin and secure it with the clip. At the top of the mast pulling the black pin will allow us to swing our cradle arms out into the loading position. We'll reinsert the pin to hold this in place. With our cradle arms extended it's about 21 3/4 of an inch from the very front of the rack to the rear of our cradle arms. more

To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread through anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. Well then secure it using the provided lock. In this position we have about 22 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 5 1/2 inches away and overall weve added about 9 inches to the length of the vehicle. Pulling the red knob at the base of rack will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle into the platform position. As you can see this gives us full access into our hatch. more

To begin our test fit were going to slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. In this position we have about 21 inch worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 7 of an inch away and overall weve added about 17 inches to the length of our Tahoe. Pulling the gold pin and clip located at the base of the center mast allows us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see this gives us full access into our hatch. With our mast back in its upright position and the pin reinserted, well now pull the pin at the top of the mast. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe we're going to be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero, a tilting 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number TH9042. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we'll hold down on the black attached pin. We'll line up our pin holes, place the attached pin into the pin holes and then we'll tighten up the black knob. This will engage our anti-rattle device further securing the rack to our vehicle. In this position we have about 22-3/4" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 2" away. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe, were going to be test fitting the Sport Rack Super EZ platform style 2 bike rack for 1 and 2 inch hitches part number SR2901LR. To begin our test fit were going to slide the slide of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. We can then secure it using the provided lock. In this position we have about 24 inch worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 7 inches away and overall weve added about 24 inches to the length of our Tahoe. Pulling the 2 black pins located on the rear of the rack on the outside will allow us to tilt our wheel cradles down into position. Well reinsert the pins in the new holes to secure them in place. more

We can then secure it with the provided lock. In this position we'll have about 22" worth of ground clearance. The closet point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 5" away. Overall we've added about 12" to the length of our Tahoe. Pulling the black pin and clip at the base of the mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. more

To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread on our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. Well then secure it using the provided lock. In this position we have about 22 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the vehicle is about 7 inches away and overall weve about 37 inches to the length of our Tahoe.A great feature of the Dura parallelogram are the removable cradle arms. To remove them, well simply push over on the 2 small black tabs located at the end of the arm and slide them out. more

The closest one in the rack to the back of our vehicle is about six inches away and overall we've added about nine and a half inches to the length of our Suburban. Pulling the red knob will allow us to tilt our rack into platform position. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Suburban, were going to be test fitting the Swagman XTC4, a platform-style 4-bike rack for 2 inch hitches, part number S64665. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes. Well then thread in our anti-rattle bolt from the right to the left. Before we tighten this bolt down with a wrench, well want to put the lock on. If we wait until its tight, the 7-way plug does cause a little bit of interference. With our lock on, well go ahead and tighten it down, and this will secure our rack to our vehicle. In this position, we have about 22-1/2 inches worth of ground clearance. more

To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with a wrench. We can then secure it with the provided clip. With our rack secure, we'll have about 8 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 4 inches away and overall we've added about 11 3/4 of an inch to the length of our Cruze. As you can see we have access to the trunk with our mast in the upright position, however pulling the gray lever at the base will allow us to tilt the rack away from our vehicle, giving us extra room. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll pull the gray lever at the top of the mast. more

Speaker: Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Suburban, were going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex, a fully hand tilting 4 bike rack for 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number TH9029. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and then tighten it down with a wrench. In this positive, we have about 22 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 3-1/2 inches away and overall, weve added about 12 inches to the length of our suburban. Pulling the gray lever at the base of the mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see, this gives us full access into our hatch. With our mast back in its upright position, well now pull the gray handle located at the top. This will allow us to swing out our dual cradle arms. With the arms extended, weve added about 37 inches to the overall length of our suburban. more

We'll then secure it using the provided lock. In this position, we have about 21-3/4 of an inch worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 6-1/4 inches away and overall we've added about 11-1/2 inches to the length of our Suburban. Pulling the large grey lever at the base of the rack will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle into platform position. In this position we have about 27-1/4 inches worth of ground clearance. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Suburban, we are going to be testing the Swagman Titan. A tilting 4-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number S63410. To begin our test today, we will slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, grab our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with our wrench. We will then secure it with the provided clip. In this position, we have about 25-1/2" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 6" away and overall we've added about 20-1/4" to the length of our Suburban. Pulling the black lever located at the base of the mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle and as you can see, this gives us full access into our hatch. With our mast back up in its upright position, we'll now pull the black lever located at the top of the mast. This will allow us to swing out our dual cradle arms. With our arms extended, we've added about 39" to the total length of our vehicle. We are not ready to load up our bike. We will begin by undoing our cradle straps. We will then grab our bike, place it into the cradles and secure it with the straps. Just like that, we have our bike loaded up and we are ready to head down the road. That will complete today's test fit of the Swagman Titan, part number S63410 on our 2014 Chevrolet Suburban. more

To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti rattle bolt and tighten it down with the wrench. We can then secure it using the provided lock. In this position we'll have about twenty two inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about ten and a quarter inches away and overall we've added about twenty one and a half inches to the length of our Suburban. Pulling the silver pin and clip located at the base of the mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see this allows us to fully open our hatch. With our mast back in its upright position we'll now pull the large black lever located at the very top of the rack. This is going to allow us to swing out our cradle arms. more

To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. We'll then secure it using the provided lock. In this position we'll have about 25 inches worth of ground clearance, the closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 8 inches away. And overall we've added about 26 inches to length of the Suburban. Pulling the two black pins located on the outside here at the rear of the rack will allow us to tilt our wheel cradles down into position. We'll reinsert the pins to hold them in place. more

With our rack in the stored position we do have limited access to the trunk. However for easier accessibility or larger items we'll simply pull the gray lever located at the base. This will allow us to tilt the rack away from our vehicle. With our rack in this position we'll have about fourteen and a half inches worth of ground clearance here at the rear. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is now about two and three quarters of an inch away and overall we've added about twenty and a half inches to the length of the Malibu. We are now ready to load our bike. more

Today on our 2014 Chevy Cruze, well be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part number TH934XTR. With the 2 adapter already removed from the shank, well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, well thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, well go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 7-1/2 of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 7 away, and weve added about 17 to the overall length of our Cruze. Well now pull the gold pin at the top of the mast, which will allow us to swing the cradle arms of the bike rack outward. With the cradle arms in this position, weve added about 38 to the overall length of our vehicle. With the bike rack in this position, you can see that we do have access to the trunk. To load up a bike well undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, and then secure it with the straps. more

Pulling the black pin and clip at the base of the mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see this gives us full access to our cargo area. With our mast back in its upright position we'll now pull the black pin and clip at the top of the mast. more
