My contact at Rampage advised that their Wireless Backup Camera for Smartphone or Tablet # RA7710 was designed with an easy-on-and-off magnetic mounting base to make it fast and simple to place it when needed and remove it when not. Due to this feature the unit was not built to withstand ongoing rain or severe moisture exposure. My contact indicated that the internal electronics are sealed within an epoxy layer to isolate them but external components like the lens will remain subject to some potential external harm from water if left exposed.
As an alternative we do offer a Wireless Camera System with Night Vision from Swift Hitch, their # SH02DIGITAL, that is built with a water-resistant camera housing. However, this system does not support the wi-fi function included in the Rampage system. At right you will find two video links for the Swift Hitch system as well as the installation instructions.
