LED Combination Trailer Light Recommendation For Hitch-Mounted 4-Bike Rack

Question:

I am trying to put LED tail lights on a hitch mounted bike rack that is capable of hauling four bikes. The vehicle tail lights can be obscured from view based on this load. I do not need the license plate lighting on the bike rack. Can I use two right hand assemblies, as long as I keep my wiring straight? I need standard two inch spacing to match the holes on the support arm for mounting to the bike rack, and would like as low profile as possible. They would look better if they were symmetrically shaped as they will be on arms that leave them at slight angles. Any suggestions? Thanks

You can use 2 right hand combination tail lights for your bike rack. Not all of the features you mentioned may be available.

One of the lights I recommend you check out is the Optronics LED Trailer Light, part # STL56RB. This light is not a low profile but it does have the 2 inch spacing for mounting you mentioned. It also has 18 diodes. The light measures 6-1/16 inches wide, 3-5/8 inches tall and it is 2-1/4 inches deep.

This lamp would work for you, but keep in mind that the lamps aren't necessarily meant for an application like this. You'll need to devise your own method of mounting the lamps to the rack. You'd also need a wiring harness like # HM38168.
