What Trailer Connectors Work with 7-Way to 5-Way and 4-Way Trailer Adapter # C35FR

Question:

Looked at part TR20141 and the accompanying video. I am having difficulty with LED trailer lights when connected to 2015 Audi Q7. Trailer has 4 pin. Video says part works for 5 and 4 pin and if a 4 just do not use the end plug. But it is apparent that my 4pin could not into TR20141-there is no separation between the next-to-last and last plug on the TR2041 for the end of the 4 pin to fit into??

The referenced 7-Way to 5-Way and 4-Way Trailer Adapter # C35FR is designed to accept either a standard 5-pole or 4-pole flat trailer-side connector. The linked photo shows a standard 4-pole trailer connector. The linked article shows a whole range of trailer connectors.

If your trailer's connector is different then you might consider installing a new 4-pole like part # A35W42B which will be fully compatible with the Tow Ready adapter.
