5th Wheel Hitch and Rail Kit Recommendation for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 Towing Keystone Montana
Question:
I may be buying a new Keystone Montana 5th wheel, model 3725RL and a new Chevy Duramax 3500 crew cab short bed truck. The Montana comes standard with a Mor/Ryde pin box which I understand will help to smooth out the ride. Since I want the ride to be as smooth as possible, I have been considering a hitch such as a Hensley TS-3 TrailerSaver because it would provide additional cushioning/buffering of what the trailer is trying to do to the truck. Im unsure what hitch to go with. Also, with the Montanas Max Turn front end, will I need a slide hitch? Can you provide advice on this?

Since you are looking at a short bed truck you will need to go with a slider hitch. Slider hitches are generally a bit noisier than a stationary hitch since they have a lot more moving parts.
If you would consider a long bed truck I would recommend one over a short bed for fifth wheel towing. A long bed truck won't require you to get out of the truck every time you pull into a parking lot to mess with the slider. Plus, it will provide you with a smoother ride quality.
First you will need a rail setup in the truck bed so that you can install a hitch in your truck. For that I would recommend a custom install kit like part # RP50066-58 that will install in about half the time as a universal kit and will minimize drilling. This kit will work on a 2015 Silverado 2500 regardless of bed length.
If you go with a short-bed truck you will need a slider hitch like the Curt # C16541. For a long bed truck a stationary hitch like part # RP30928 would be perfect. Both have great jaw designs that provide excellent king pin contact to minimize noise.
