Snow Chain Recommendation for a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 with 275/60R20 Tires

Question:

I am looking to buy snow chains for my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4. Tires are 275/60R20. They are MandS rated. Its been a while since Ive had snow chains and not sure what type to get. I am traveling from NC to Chicago and want to have them just in case. Also what is the difference of manual vs assisted. Would like your recommendation. Thank you

First thing you need to check is the owners manual of your 2011 Dodge Ram to determine if there are any restrictions on snow chain usage.

If you can use them I would recommend the Titan Chain Tire Chains # TC2533. This is a great chain at a great price that will give you excellent traction in the snow and will be pretty easy to install.

Check out the review video and FAQ article I attached on snow chains.

A manual tensioned chain doesn't have any features built into the chain that aids in tensioning the chains like cam-tensioners or cable-tensioners. With a manual adjusted chain you have to try and get the chain as tight as you can with the initial install. Assisted chains allow you to install the chain and then has a separate mechanism that allow the chain to be tensioned after installed. Assisted chains are much easier to use.

These are rated for road use only. If you filter through our fitguide and the tire size on your vehicle you will be able to search for tire chains that are safe to use off-road.
