What Does Usable Length Refer to for Curt 1/4-Inch Diameter Coupler Safety Pin # K-8P
Question:
What length are you referring to when you say usable lenght? Part # K-8P and similar Are you referring to the length of the pin from the bottom of the head to where the wire comes back in contact at the end? Meaning the actual length of the pin is slightly longer? If so, what is that dimension? Thanks!

For the referenced product, Curt Coupler Safety Pin # K-8P, usable length refers to the space between the inside edges of the head of the pin and the triangular locking clip that fits over the end of the pin, as you state. The linked photo illustrates this item and the dimension to which I refer.
The overall length of the pin, from tip to tip, measures 3-inches and the overall length from the inside edge of the pin's head to the end of the pin measures 2-3/4-inches.
I have linked a brief video for you as well.
