Choosing Spare Tire Carrier for Drift Boat Trailer

Question:

Hi, I want to buy a spare tire mount from you for my drift boat trailer, but am having trouble ing it, because they dont all show their measurements. The MaxxTow Spare Tire Carrier for 3inch x 5inch Trailer Frames - 4-Lug and 5-Lug Wheels looks good, but a my 5-lug wheel looks like its 4.25inch on center from a top lug hole to a bottom one: does that fit? You have another mount that looks good, CE Smith Offset Spare Trailer Tire Carrier - Galvanized Steel - 4- and 5-Lug Wheels, but I cant find the measurements and have the same question. Thanks!

The first step would be to determine the exact bolt pattern of the wheel. If you click the provided link, you'll be taken to an FAQ article that shows exactly how to do this. Once you determine the bolt pattern, you can compare that information with the specifications for the tire carriers you were interested in.

The CE Smith # CE27310G fits 4 and 5 lug wheels, except for a 5 on 5 or a 5 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. It fits trailer frame members from 1 to 3-1/2 inches thick to 4 inches tall.

I can't say if the carrier is compatible with your wheel unless I know the bolt pattern, but it would likely be compatible with your trailer frame's height. The CE Smith carrier would work unless your frame is thicker than 3-1/2 inches.

I've linked you to product demonstration videos for the tire carriers you mentioned.
