Thank you for your recent purchase of two pairs of Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains # TC2828CAM.

These chains do fit your specified 275/45-20 tire size, which is in the middle of the range of sizes these chains will fit. All tire chains are designed to fit more than one tire size, so it is not unusual for variances in fit - the slightly loose hold even after the cams are tightened.

First make sure that when you apply the chains that they are centered on the tires from left-to-right.
This is of course easier said than done when kneeling in the snow on a cold day! Make sure that when you make the initial connection on the inside of the tire you choose a link that will provide a reasonably snug fit. You do not have to use the last link on the chain; you can select one that offers a tighter fit if you like. Even after this and after the cams are tightened the fit may seem loose. For this reason adjusters are offered to help secure the slack in the chains.

Titan offers their RA10 Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster # TCOA2, sold as a pair of two, which hook on to the side chains on the outside of the tire to take up the slack.

I suggest also that you first review your Q7 owner's manual for any guidance or restrictions regarding the use of tire chains. Some passenger cars can use only S-Class chains which require less wheel well clearance - please refer to the two linked articles. Make sure your vehicle can use the V-Bar chains before driving with them installed.

Also note that these chains have a 30 mph speed limit.
