Will the Battery Isolator Voltage Result in the Battery Being Undercharged

Question:

Do the newer diode isolators still have a .6 voltage across them, like the old ones did? If so, how does the battery get enough voltage for a full charge if the regulator of the vehiccle does not account for that ? In other words, the regulated charging voltage, minus .6 volts, would result in the batterys being undercharged by .6 volts.

I contacted our technical representative at Deka and he stated it all depends on your alternator on your vehicle. If you have a remote sense alternator, the charge time will increase by 50%. Your battery will gain its full charge from your vehicles alternator. You wouldn't need to worry about your battery being undercharged.

The remote sense alternator provides highly accurate voltage readings and optimizes your vehicle battery state-of-charge. This results in the improved efficiency and overall battery life. It also maintains 14 volts at the battery by increasing charging voltage at the alternator to compensate for voltage drops.

The two battery isolator # DW08771 will prevent auxiliary battery from robbing power from the main battery.
