Block Heater Recommendation for a 2003 Dodge Sprinter  

Question:

where is the block core hole ..... 2003 dodge sprinter with a mercedes benz engine ..... reading that it isnt required to drain the coolant this is puzzling to me please explain to me the location and how a heater works thanks for the help

To install the Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater # KH11814 you will need to locate the cartridge hole on the block, which for a Chrysler it will be on the left or right rear of the block. You will need to clean the hole out and then apply silicone to the hole and the # KD11814 and then insert the heater. No coolant will need to be drained or lost.

Once installed in the hole the heater will warm the block and surrounding coolant and oil.

For a simpler install you could go with an oil pan heater like part # KH24100. This will just attach to the bottom of your oil pan and will keep the oil warm.
