Recommended Weight Distribution Setup for Transporting Six Venture Boat Trailers With a 1995 F-250

Question:

I am a transporter and have a stack of six Venture boat trailers to haul from Chicago IL to Tacoma WA in the next 2 weeks. The bottom trailer is a triple axle and I was told it has electric brakes, I would need a WD hitch for my 1995 Ford F-250 the TW is around 1500 lbs. What hitch would you recommend and do I need a pole tongue adapter??? the trailer has a 3x5 tube tongue. The total weight of the trailers is 11,000 lbs. Thank you

Since the trailer tongue weight is so high, I recommend Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution with Sway Control, # RP66561 for your 1995 Ford F-250. This system has a tongue weight capacity range of 700 - 1,400 pounds and a gross towing weight of 14,000 pounds. This system comes with a shank that fits 2-inch trailer hitches.

An adjustable shank is included with the Reese Steadi-Flex weight distribution # RP66561 and has a maximum rise of 7 inches from top of hitch receiver opening. The maximum drop is 2-1/4 inches from top of hitch receiver opening.

You will need a Reese pole adapter # RP58393 because it's required on pole tongue trailers when you are using a weight distribution system. The adapter allows you to mount a weight-distribution system on your straight-tongue trailer. It has a maximum tongue weight of 1,400 pounds and you will need to shift some of the weight toward the back of your trailer in order to lower the tongue weight to the 1,400 pound limit of the adapter.

For a 2-5/16 inch ball use # 63840. It has a maximum GTW of 20,000 pounds.
