Trailer Tires are Wearing Only in the Centers on Boat Trailer
Question:
I baought two hi-run boat trailer tires but Im having the center wear and the outter side is still brand new. These tires are less then 1 year and maybe the most it had been traveling is less then 15 time to the lake for duck hunting only. the jon boat weight less then 50Lb. Sidewall is asking for 90psi which is at right now. so What is the correct psi should I have it at instead of 90psi because it seem like its overinflated now. I can see that its riding in the center of the two tires.

When you get wear just in the center tread of a tire that does indicate that the tire is over-inflated.
But if the tires are inflated to the maximum psi as indicated on the side wall, then that is the correct procedure for trailer tires. I think part of the issue is that the trailer is not heavy enough to flatten out the tire tread a little more. I would not recommend removing too much air because doing so will result in excessive heat build up.
But I ran this by our tire and wheel expert and he said that you could start with dropping the air pressure by 10 psi and see how that does and then adjust accordingly to get even contact between the tread and the ground. But when there is more weight on the trailer you will want to keep it at the max psi for the tires.
