Troubleshooting P2 Brake Controller that Applies Trailer Brakes While Accelerating and Lever Slid
Question:
I have a Prodigy P2 brake controller and it seems as though it my be wired backwards. When I follow the setup with holding the manual lever at 25mph and then setting it to 6.0 i seem to get braking when i am accelerating and no power to the controller when i depress the brake pedal. Also, when idle i show a 0.0 but when going i get the .c. Please help I have a big trip coming up on tuesday. thank you,

When you hold the manual override lever of the P2 # 90885 it will hold the max braking power you have it set at until it is released. If you are applying the brakes of the truck with the override lever and are expecting the braking to increase it won't. Also, with the lever slid it will apply the brakes on the trailer while you are trying to accelerate.
Since you are seeing 0.0 at a stop and .c while you are driving it would seem that everything is connected properly but maybe it's just not setup properly. Does the number increase on the display when the brakes are applied and can you feel the brakes apply? If so, then everything sounds like it is setup properly.
You might also check that that position of the controller is correct. It needs to face the direction of travel squarely. See the picture I attached for how it should be sitting.
