You will need to use a wiring harness with a converter to convert your vehicles 3 wire system to the trailers 2 wire system. We have a kit available for you to use. The 4-Pole Hardwire Kit with Converter (Includes Tester), item # 119178KIT is wired behind each of the vehicle taillights and provides a 4-Way connector for towing. You will need to use the included circuit tester to find the left turn, tail light and brake light circuit behind the left side tail light assembly and connect the yellow, brown and red wires to those circuits respectively. You then run the green wire to the right side and connect it to the right turn signal circuit. Once the unit is grounded you will be ready to test the 4-Way connector for proper function. If everything is good you are ready to tow your trailer.
There may be a plug and play harness available for your vehicle. If your pickup is a Frontier model you can use the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the Frontier by Nissan, item # 118362. This harness installs inline with the existing connectors behind the tail light assemblies.
