Ideally you would wire the Stromberg Carlson powered trailer jack, part # JET-2500, to a separate battery. Normally trailers with powered jacks have an auxiliary battery that is used to power accessories. If there is not a separate battery on your trailer, you could power the jack from the 12-volt power source in your 7-pin trailer connector.
Here is how you would wire it to your 7-pin connector:
On the 7-pin connector that is on your tow vehicle there should be a red or black wire that is a 12-volt auxiliary power source, this is usually the 2 o-clock position as you face the opening of the connector. I would recommend testing the port with a circuit tester, part # PTW2992, for voltage there.
Now on the corresponding port of your trailer connector you will want to run wire to the positive wire on the jack. From here, you will ground the other wire from the jack to a clean surface on the frame of your trailer and the jack will operate.
I have included a video review for you as well.
