Tandem Axle Trailer Shackle Strap Contacting Center Hanger on 2013 Open Range Trailer
Question:
I have a 2013 Open Range With 4400lb axles. 7000 miles of towing. Problem The top of rear spring shackle has been contacting rear edges of center hanger. I measured the EZ Flex,. bolt center to bolt center and it measured 6 inches. The dimensions of a new one states this should be 5 5/8. If each of the cushions are depressed this much could be making this contact happen. If not, what could possibly be the cause?

Since your trailer is fairly new and has moderate mileage on it the most likely cause for the contact between the trailer's center spring hanger and your shackle straps is the trailer being overloaded. I do take it that the trailer has not been modified in any way at this point.
The Dexter EZ-Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System # K71-652-00 that you referenced is rated for use with axles up to 6000-lb capacity. The normal range of distance between the two shackle bolt hole centers can vary from 5-1/4-inches to 6-1/4-inches as noted on the linked photo.
This dimension is also dependent on the rating of the springs installed and their amount of flex.
I would suggest you verify the trailer capacity and the weight of your usual cargo load to ensure you are not overloading the trailer.
