Installing a Trailer Hitch on a 2000 Mercedes-Benz S430 Sedan
Question:
Does the unit come with installation instructions? Is this something I can install myself, or I need a specialty body shop? I asked my regular body shop and they said as long as there are installation instructions, they can probably install it for me. Looking at the picture I cannot see where the hitch goes. Under the carriage? Inside the trunk?

The Curt Trailer Hitch, # 257248, is the correct hitch for your 2000 Mercedes S-class Sedan. Many of our hitches simply bolt to the vehicle but this hitch requires some drilling. If you are a fairly skilled do-it-yourselfer, you could probably handle the installation yourself. If you have little experience with automotive projects, I would suggest allowing a professional to install it for you. This hitch does come with instructions, which I have linked below, so you can look over them and decide if it is something you could undertake yourself, or pass to a professional. The hitch installs under the vehicle but you will need access to the trunk to complete installation.
