Can a 225/75R15 Trailer Tire Replace a 205/75R15 Trailer Tire

Question:

I have a 205/75r15 trailer tire load range E, and I was looking all over the internet and all I can find is 225/75r15 load range E. However, I can not find 205/75r15 load range E only load range D. I was wondering if i could replace the 205 with the 225 on the same rim. Thank you,

You should have no problem installing a 225/75R15 on a rim that previously had a 205/75R15, but you should note that 205 is designed to fit 5 to 6-1/2 inch wide rims and the 225 is designed to fit 6 to 7 inch wide rims. You might verify your current rim size first.

Also, the 225 will be almost an 1-1/2 inches taller than your previous tire. You'll want to make sure you have the clearance.

If all that checks out the tire I would recommend is the # AM10303. This is a Load Range E tire.
