Yes you can! The 13-cubic-foot Thule Force Medium Cargo Box # TH6356B that you referenced is a high-quality and large-capacity rooftop cargo carrier that will directly mount to your 2012 Kia Sorento's factory-installed crossbars. I verified this with Thule. The Force Medium is USA-made and carries a limited lifetime warranty from Thule.

Since this rooftop box can hold up to 110-lbs of cargo, I suggest you check your Sorento owner's manual (or with your local Kia dealership) to confirm the roof weight capacity for your car before loading up your items. The Force can hold 110-lbs of cargo but this does not necessarily mean that your Sorento has the same capacity. It could be more or less, so check your manual or with your local dealership to confirm.

Also keep in mind that the weight of the empty box itself, 35-lbs, counts against the vehicle's capacity. So for example let's say your manual indicates a roof weight rating of 150-lbs. After you account for the 35-lb weight of the Force you would have left 115-lbs of weight capacity for the loaded cargo.

Often our customers that use a rooftop cargo box (or roof-mount kayak or bike carriers) will also choose a handy accessory item - a tire step. A tire step, such as the HitchMate # HE4040, simply slips over a rear tire to give you better access to your cargo box for loading and unloading. The Topline step comes fully-assembled, features lightweight yet sturdy aluminum construction and folds flat for easy storage in your Sorento.

Another step you might consider is the Telesteps # TE97FR. This comes fully-assembled and folds for easy storage but it costs less than the Topline step and it can be moved to any location around the vehicle since it is free-standing and does not mount on the tire.
