According to the information that I obtained from Thule, the Pulse Rooftop Cargo Box, # TH614, will work with the factory crossbars on your 2014 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen.
Before loading the cargo box or any other cargo onto the roof, I recommend checking the owner's manual of your vehicle to determine the overall weight capacity of the roof. Exceeding this capacity could cause damage to your vehicle.
In order to determine whether or not a cargo box will interfere with the opening of your hatch, you will want to take a quick measurement. With the front crossbar as far forward as possible, measure from the center of the front crossbar to the seam where the roof meets the hatch. Compare this number to the "Front Clearance" dimensions in the attached picture. If your vehicle measures more than the number listed in the picture, that cargo box will fit on your Jetta without making contact with your hatch. For the Pulse # TH614 you will need to have a front clearance measurement of 42-5/8 inches or more.
When using a cargo box, I always recommend using a tire step like the HitchMate TireStep, # HE4040, to simplify the process of loading and unloading the box. This simple folding step slips over a rear tire to provide easier access to your cargo box and it folds up for storage.
