How Do Determine if the Wheel and Tire Combo # AM3H490 Would Clear the Frame of a Trailer

Question:

Iam converting a boat trailer that has 12inch wheels/tires to a utility trailer. to ensure that the tires do not touch the deck which I iwll be adding, I am thinking of using these tires on your web: Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10inch Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range E. I know i iwll have suffecnet highet clearnce but I am not usre if I will have suffecent width clearnce so that the new tires do not rub aganst the inside trailer frame I will not have any fenders. my question is, do you know if the 10inch tire width is actually to the outside away from the frame or is it to spread evenly and what is the bets way to measure my trailer to know if they would fit without touching the indise of the trailer frame.

The section width of the tire on the # AM3H490 that you referenced is actually 8.4 inches.

To determine if this setup would clear your trailer you will need to take half of this width (4.2 inches) and compare that to the distance from the hub face on the axle to the closest portion of your trailer that would cause interference. If this measures more than 4.2 inches then this setup would have enough clearance from a wideness point of view.

The outer diameter of the wheel is 20.4 inches.
