Converter To Wire 4-Way Connector On 2009 Jeep Compass To 7-Way European Connector On Trailer
Question:
Dear expert, id like to make a question about the solution you have already offered in question http://www.etrailer.com/question-53685.html. I have a Jeep Compass 2009 CRDi equipped with TOWING HITCH WIRING HARNESS 4-WAY FLAT CONNECTOR MOPAR PART #68196390AA. My car has can - bus system activated. So, i want to connect a european trailer with 7 - way plug like the example on the question you have answered. I have read in some other articles that some diodes need to be connected in the wiring. Are they needed for my car or i have to follow the instructions on the wiring you have posted? The trailer has independent lights for stop red and turn amber but nothing special no electric brakes, back up light etc. Thanks in advance

Helpful Expert Reply:
We do not carry the vehicle-side plug for a European plug like you mentioned is on your motorcycle trailer. You will need to find one locally.
You can use the tail light converter like part # 118158, and along with a 4-way harness like part # 18004, you can make an adapter that will work for you. I have attached a photo with all of the wires for input and output noted you can check out.
Diodes will not be needed because the trailer will not backfeed through the system.
