Trailer Wiring Harness for 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300TD Turbo Diesel
Question:
Is the 119179KIT appropriate for trailer lighting? I also want to install a brake controller - Are parts ETBC7 along with 39523 and 20127 appropriate? Do you have any specific instructions for installation on this vehicle? Thanks for any help you can give me.

The TowReady trailer wiring harness that you referenced, part # 119179KIT, is one of three powered taillight converters that will fit the 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300TD wagon. All can be seen on the link at right. This 4-pole harness is shown in the linked install video, and is one of the items needed to install a trailer brake controller like the excellent Prodigy P2 # 90885.
I suggest you take a look at the linked article on brake controllers; this will further explain why I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, one of the most reliable, easy-to-use and popular brake controllers we offer.
You will also need a trailer brake controller install kit, part # ETBC7, which includes all of the other parts needed to complete the installation. An installation video for this kit is linked for your review.
We do not happen to have a video showing your exact year/make/model vehicle.
The Prodigy P2 comes with the pigtail wiring harness you'll use for installation; you do not need to order one separately.
