Solution for Removing a Frozen Ball in a B and W Turnover Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

I bought a used. 2004 f 350 with the turn over hit installed. I have unlocked the pin but I cannot free the ball. I sprayed WD 40, and used a 3 lb hammer from underneath the truck, no luck. Can you give me some suggestions?

I spoke to my contact at B and W and he said that when their hitch balls get frozen up in the hitches like the part # BWGNRK1313 the best solution is to let it soak for along time with penetrating oil like WD40 or PB blaster.

He said the more penetrating oil the better, and letting it soak up to a week is your best option. In extreme cases he said that some people have removed the center section of the hitch and taken it to a machine shop to have them press it out.
