Choosing the Correct Ball Mount with 5.5 Inches Drop Between Hitch and Coupler

Question:

The distance between my hitch and my trailer coupler is a of 5.5. All things being equal, would you advise a ball mount with a 5inch or 6inch ? Thx

We don't have a 5 inch drop ballmount for a 2 inch receiver (only 2-1/2 inch receivers), but a 6 inch ballmount, like # D-28, which you reference, will work just fine. The hitch ball can be an inch or so above the coupler height, since when they are joined there will be sag in the tow vehicle. Also if you are towing a light trailer, you will be better off going with the 6 inch ballmount.
