Help Identifying Gooseneck Hitch in a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500

Question:

I recently purchased a 2009 Ram 2500 4x4 quadcab. It has a gooseneck hitch without the ball. I have been unable to find a manufacturers name on the hitch. The hitch appears to consist of a steel plate approximately 6 inches wide and 7/8 inches thick estimates which is attached at each end to the longitudinal frame member. A very coarsely threaded hole about 1and1/4 inches in diameter is in the center of the plate and a corresponding hole, presumably for the hitch ball is cut in the bed and liner. The hole appears deeper than 7/8 inches and so I am presuming a nut or something similar has been welded to the upper side of the plate. There are no attachment points for safety chains I believe not required in Arizona but there is another approximately 5/8 inch threaded hole, but only one, in the middle of the plate about 5 inches off center. The 5/8 inch hole does not appear to have been used but I am presuming it is intended as an attachment point for safety chains by the manufacturer. The person who installed the hitch is unknown and no one I have shown it to has any idea where to find a ball. Do you have any idea what ball is called for? The previous question and answer on a replacement ball for an unknown gooseneck hitch does not seem to exactly fit my circumstances. Will pictures help you? Exact measurements? Both will be somewhat difficult to obtain as I do not have access to a lift but if you need them I will find a way to get them.

I think the best way to determine what gooseneck hitch you have in the bed of your truck would be for you to check out the link I attached to the right that shows all of the hitches we offer that are confirmed to fit your 2009 Dodge Ram 2500. Hopefully we have the same hitch you have in your truck and you can identify your hitch from the pictures of all of the hitches.

If you can pick your hitch out from the list check out the other link I attached that shows all of the replacement gooseneck balls we carry. You should be able to pick out the correct ball from there if the hitch you have is one that we carry.
