Can Timbren Axle-less Suspension be Added to a Trailer to Increase its Capacity

Question:

Can this be added to an existing spring trailer to increase the load capacity without removing the exisiting axles?

Expert Reply:

Technically, no, adding a Timbren axle-less system like # ASR5200S01 would not increase the trailer capacity. The capacity, which is mainly set by the axles, also is determined by several other factors including tires, wheels, suspension components, and the actual construction of the frame.

Adding the system would provide more support but you would likely have to adjust the location of the existing axle to get the right spacing between it and the axle-less system and measurements from the coupler to the mid point between the axles.
