Integrated OEM Tailgate Lock LH-007 Installation Requirements and Durability
Question:
1. What is required to complete the installation? 2. How easily can it be tampered with? 3. What I mean to say is, can it be broken by a strong pull of the handle? I once had a cover with a handle lock at the center of the lift window and it was vandalised by cranking hard on the handle and lifting one of the sides 4. Do you make a set of locks for a gull wing toneau cover?

To install tailgate lock # LH-007, you will need a 30mm torque bit or ratchet, and a 8mm socket to remove and re-install retention nuts and screws.
Though the design of the lock places the locking strength on one side of the handle, the zinc-coated steel locking mechanism and OEM style plastic make this lock very durable, and, as my contact at Pilot confirmed, tampering should not be an issue.
The tailgate lock would be the best option we offer for locking your vehicle while using a tonneau cover, we do not offer locks for your particular tonneau cover style.
