Tire Chain Recommendation For 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup Truck

Question:

I seems like I have very little clearance between tire and truck frame. I may have more clearance on front tires but I may have to avoid very sharp turns. what do you recommend.

We do offer several tire chains that are designed to fit the tires on your 2006 Dodge Ram truck. Per the attached helpful article, tire chains are installed on the driving wheels, so if you have a 2-wheel drive truck, just use chains on the rear tires. If you have a 4-wheel drive truck, you can use chains on the front as well as the rear.

Since tire chains are sized to fit specific tire sizes, I am using a tire size of 275/60-20 for my recommendations. If you have tires that are a different size, let me know and I will be glad to make a recommendation for you.

A tire chain you may want to consider is the Glacier Tire chains, part # PW3029C, you referenced. Instead of the chains, these have steel rollers that are wrapped around wire cables. These are confirmed to be a fit for your tires as well. These are a lower profile chain and designed to give you a smoother ride.

You will want to check your owner's manual to see if there are any restrictions when using tire chains.

I have also attached a link to a helpful article about tire chains you may want to take a look at.
