Will Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # RP56001-53 Work with Curt Q24 Hitch # C16245
Question:
2015 Chevy Silverado 3500, Dually, Long-Bed, Diesel..Will the Reese above-bed outboard rail kit #RP56001-53 work with a Curt Q24 fifth wheel hitch? Will these Reese rails mount to my frame without drilling? Are outboard rail kits weaker than inboard rail kits?

Expert Reply:
The Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # RP56001-53 is a custom-fit kit for your 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 that requires no drilling into the truck's frame (only the truck bed) since it uses existing holes for its outboard brackets. Outboard brackets make installation easier by giving you better access for your tools; the brackets themselves and the frame mounting points are essentially the same either way so there is no loss of strength. These industry-standard rails are fully compatible with hitches like the Curt Q24 # C16245.
For your reference I have linked videos for both the Reese install kit and the Curt Q24 hitch.
