Brake Controller Wiring Harness for a 2015 Ram 2500 and P2 Brake Controller
Question:
I have a new 2015 on order. It will be here by the end of this month. It has a factory installed brake controller, but I am not sure it will be as good as my Prodigy P2. I know the 3024-P will plug into the harness, BUT, how do I disable my factory installed controller without running into issues with the computer and trouble codes?

For the 2015 Ram 2500 you will need brake controller wiring harness # 3024-P to plug in your P2 brake controller # 90885.
What will need to be done is to manually run the blue wire from the control/harness directly to the 7-Way connector. The factory output wire that is there from the factory integrated controller will just need to be removed and stowed out of the way. Basically, the factory controller will think everything is fine and that there is no trailer connected.
The blue wire in the connector that plugs into the truck will need to be removed from the connector. A separate length of wire like # 10-1-1, will need to be attached to it and manually ran to the back of the 7-Way.
