What psi Should Trailer Tires be Inflated To

Expert Reply:

Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum air pressure indicated on the tire. The tire on tire and wheel combo # AM30620 for example should be at 90 psi.

The reason that you inflate trailer tires to the max is because trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall to handle more vertical load. If the tires are under inflated, because of that thicker sidewall it will cause them to generate excessive heat. Heat is the number one enemy of tires.
