Which system is better will really depend on you.
If you're a 'Type A' person who's pretty much on top of things all the time, I'd recommend the Oil-Based Filter model, part # AR300-107 because the 5-layer filter provides better filtration than the # AR301-107 dry filter model, especially if you regularly operate your vehicle in dusty areas. This system does require some maintenance, it will need to be cleaned and re-oiled occasionally. A cleaning and oiling kit is available as part # AR790-560.
If an option that isn't quite as efficient, but doesn't require as much maintenance would be more attractive to you, then go with the # AR301-107 dry model. To clean the filter, you'd just use a shop vac to vacuum it out as needed.
The Air Raid # AR300-157 you mentioned is compatible with the 2004-2006 Durango, and wouldn't work with your 1998 model.
