Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2008 Nissan Armada Towing 2007 Kodiak Trailer

Question:

Attached are a few pics to better describe the tongue of our trailer. As you can see, it's not your typical large 'box' type or 'c' frame type. I did read the warning label carefully on the tongue, and it stated the weight limits with a leveler type system not to be greater than 1,000 pounds. I guesstimate the tongue weight of our trailer somewhere around 650 pounds. The dry tongue weight was 450 before the propane tanks, battery and assorted necessities we have added in front of the axles. As first blush it would appear that the system I'm considering would be a good match for our needs. Thought or comments appreciated.

In order to select the weight distribution system that is best for your 2008 Nissan Armada towing your 2007 Kodiak Trailer, I recommend that you start off by determining the tongue weight of your trailer when it is fully loaded. I have attached an article which is helpful in this process.

The Pro Series Weight Distribution System, # PS49582, is designed for use with trailers having a tongue weight of 550 to 750 pounds. For the best performance, you will want to choose a system where your tongue weight falls pretty close to the middle of the system's weight range.

As for whether this system will work with the frame style of your trailer, if your trailer has a box style frame like the one in the attached picture, this system would be suitable for frame. If you have a different style of frame, please send me a picture and I would be happy to take a look at it.

I have attached a couple of articles for you to check out.

I spoke with my contact at Pro Series regarding the style of frame on your trailer. Although your trailer doesn't have a typical style frame, the set screws on the lift brackets will adjust to accommodate the skinnier frame on your trailer. If your trailer does indeed have a tongue weight of 650 pounds, the Pro Series Weight Distribution System, # PS49582, would be a great match.
