How Does Ball Stay In On Hide-A-Goose Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for 2014 Ram 2500

Hi. What keeps the ball in place while towing? Thanks.

The ball in the Hide-A-Goose gooseneck trailer hitch # 9467 for your 2014 Ram 2500 has little ball bearing tabs on the shank. I included a picture pointing these out.
There is also a black lever on top of the ball. Opening and closing the lever will cause the ball bearings to either stick out or recess into the ball. When the ball is in place and the lever is closed it is in the locked position and the ball cannot be pulled out.
