Transmission Cooler Fan Recommendation to Give Additional Airflow for Plow Truck

Question:

Question concerning air flow restriction on my 2005 Chevy 4X4 2500HD snow plow truck equipped with auto. transmission cooler and temp. gauge. Gauge remains in normal temp. range when plowing but when traveling at highway speeds the blade deflects the air flow to the trans. cooler causing a rise in trans. temp. and then engine temp. When I stop along the road for a few min. both gauges return to normal. Because of limited space installing a remote trans. cooler with fan would be difficult. Would it be advisable to install a Derale 7 Tornado elec. fan. part #D16507 in front of the stock 4 1/2 X 11 transmission cooler?

Yes, installing the Derale 7" Tornado Electric Fan # D16507 in front of your transmission cooler will give you additional cooling power for when you are at highway speeds and your plow is blocking airflow.
