Using Winch Circuit Breakers to Protect Alternator Circuit on a Race Car
Question:
any reason I couldnt use the double 50 amp model in line at the batteries in a race car? device would be placed at the end of the charging wire from the alternator. max alternator approx 75 amps. I am wanting to protect should that wire accidently ever go to ground. I would assume to reverse wiring?

Circuit breakers # 90-22860 would be rated too high for a 75 amp circuit since it includes three 50 amp circuit breakers. This means it could damage the alternator if there was a short pulling more than 75 amps but less than 150.
Circuit breakers # DL304025 would be a better option since they are rated for a total of 80 amps.
