Is Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller Compatible with Integrated Brake Controller 2015 Silverado

Question:

I bought from e-trailer a Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller a year or so ago. Then recently I bought a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 with an integrated brake controller as part of the Trailering package. Question: if I hook up the truck and trailer via the standard 7 point plug, 1. will the trailer be controller by the Chevy integrated controller automatically and not the Tekonsha, or 2. Do I need to disable the Tekonsha brake controller somehow so the Chevy controller will activate, or 3. Should I use the Tekonsha brake controller and expect that it will override the Chevy integrated controller? Thanks.

If you plug the 7-way of the RF Brake Controller part # TK94FR into the 7-way on your 2015 Chevy Silverado the RF controller will be what operates the brakes of your trailer. If you wanted to bypass the RF you would need to unplug the 7-way from your trailer that is currently plugged into the RF and then run it to 7-way of your Silverado.

The RF is a great controller. I would probably just use it when towing with your Silverado.
