Compatibility of Blue Ox Adventurer Tow Bar With # BX1122 Base Plate Kit for 2005 Jeep Liberty
Question:
I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty If I use a BX7322 Bar can I use a BX1122 base plate? If not what would you use?

The Blue Ox Adventurer tow bar, part # BX7322 has arms that can adjust so they'll fit base plate brackets that are between 16-34 inches apart. Since the # BX1122 base plate brackets are 20 inches apart, they are compatible and would work just fine. Just be aware that the Adventurer is rated for 5000 lbs. Some models of the Jeep Liberty can weigh above 4000 lbs, so you'll need to be careful about the weight of any gear you carry in the Liberty, if any.
To complete your set-up, you'll also need a wiring solution like the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles, # HM56203. This harness would install pretty easily, and wouldn't require any cutting or splicing into existing wiring. You'll also need safety cables like part # BX88196 if you don't already have them. Finally, most every state requires that a flat-towed vehicle be equipped with a supplemental braking system. The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is the system I recommend most often, because of its ease of use and the fact that it can be installed or removed from the vehicle in moments without an intensive, expensive installation.
