There are a couple of places you can get the correct circuit to use to wire up the third brake light and dome light for your camper shell.

You can use the stoplight switch at the brake pedal of your 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. You will need to use a circuit tester like our part # PTW2993 to probe the wires and find the one with voltage only when the brakes are applied.

You can also use the CHMSL circuit on your fuse box. For the dome light you will want to run a wire straight from the vehicle battery so that you can turn the dome light on regardless of if your truck is on.
