Can the CE Smith Single Axle Trailer Fender part # CE17100ATB Mount Directly to a Trailer

Question:

Is one side of this fender flat enough to mount directly to the side of an enclosed trailer. The original fender edges were rounded on one side but completely flat on the trailer side. The bolts went through the flat part and straight to the trailer. There was actually no brackets involved. Will I be able to do that on this fender or will I have to use the brackets? I would like for the fender to be flush on the trailer side.

The CE Smith Single Axle Trailer Fender part # CE17100ATB that you referenced has a radiused lip on both sides of the fender. It can still be bolted on though as the fender lip does go flat. It will set flush to the side of your trailer, but the round radius lip of the trailer will make the shoulder of the fender sit away from the surface of the trailer.
