Will Curt Drawbar Clear Bumper On 2004 Chrysler Town And Country
Question:
Hi, I have a 2004 Chrysler TandC van with a Curt class 2 hitch I need to get a draw bar, 2inch ball and locking pin, I lined up the trailer height to the van height and it looks like a 5inch Rise draw bar # C45014 will do the job, its an older lower snowmobile trailer. Question is the C45014 at 9 5/8 long ok for a 2004 TandC for the ball connector to clear the bumper? It looks it to me but want to make sure. thanks

There is an easy way to make sure you clear the bumper on your 2004 Chrysler Town and Country. You will need a tape measure and a straight edge like a yardstick or a dowel. Hold the straight edge vertically against the rear bumper, making sure it extends below the hitch opening. Then just measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the straight edge. This gives you the distance you need to clear the bumper.
The Curt Class Drawbar, part # C45014, measures 9-5/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball hole.
If you find that is not quite long enough, you might want to check out part # C45015. This drawbar measures 11-5/8 inches from center of the hitch pin hole to the hitch ball hole.
The 2 inch hitch ball I recommend is the Curt Hitch Ball, part # C40018. This hitch ball has a 3/4 inch diameter shank that measures 2-1/8 inches and has a capacity of 3,500 lbs.
