Will HitchMate Extendable TruckStep Interfere With Spare Tire On 2011 Chevy Z71 Colorado

I am interested in the hitch mate expandable..Part # HE4045 for my 2011 Z71 Chevy Colorado Club Cab. Just wondering if it will fit without hitting the spare tire underneath the truck.. Thanks,

You may want to take a measurement on your 2011 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 to see if the HitchMate Extendable TruckStep, part # HE4045 will interfere with your spare tire. This step is designed to fit 2 inch receiver openings and has a 500 lb weight capacity.

When the truck step is installed and fully retracted, it will be 1-5/8 inches below the hitch receiver opening. It extends 22-1/2 inches toward the front of the truck from the back of the receiver hitch. And when retracted, it extends 3 inches from the hitch opening rearward. I measured the distance from the hitch pin holes to the furthest part of the step shank that extends under the truck. Those measurements are 17 inches and 19-1/2 inches. To deter theft and keep the # HE4045 secure in your hitch, I recommend a hitch receiver lock like part # e98882. This is a stainless steel flush locking pin that has a pin diameter of 5/8 inch, and is designed for 2 inch hitches. I have attached a link to a product review video for this lock.
