Trailer Disconnect Light Comes On, Chimes, on 2005 Ford F-250 without a Trailer Connected
Question:
I have a 05 Ford diesel F250 4x4. The trailer default or trailer disconnect light comes on constantly. When the light comes on you also get a ding to go with it. It does this when there is not a trailer hooked up. Why would it do this without a trailer?

It sounds like there is a short. It is probably happening due to corrosion or dirt in the trailer connector on your 2005 Ford F-250. Make sure the connector is clean and free of corrosion on the pins and inside the connector where the wires attach.
