Trailer Lights Not Working on Trailer Towed by 2005 Nissan Xterra
Question:
I have a 2005 Nissan Xterra with a factory tow system installed. At some point last year all the trailer lights quite working. I am not getting an electric signal to the 7pin trailer hitch or the connection point under the right side of the vehicle where the harness plugs in no brakes, turn signal etc. I do not see any obvious damage to the wiring harness from the plugin point all the way to the junction under the left passenger door. Is it possible that the relays located in the engine compartment have gone bad? How would/could I test those?

You will want to check the fuses and relays associated with the tow package to see if something needs to be replaced. It very well could be that some of the relays are missing or bad on your Xterra.
In my research, I could not find a fuse location for you. You can use the vehicle owner's manual to locate all of the fuses and relays that are related to the tow package. Some may be under the hood and others may be inside the cab of the vehicle. If you need some, you can use relay kit # C57000.
If you replace any fuses/relays you can test your connections with a circuit tester like # PTW2993.
