My research shows that the 2003 Cabrio was actually one of the versions of the Golf model. My contact at Thule confirmed that there are no confirmed trunk-mount rack fits for your vehicle. This includes the rack you referenced, # TH910XT. Any convertible style vehicle poses challenges to fitting a trunk-mount bike rack and your Cabrio is no exception.
If you do want to consider a hitch please note that all hitches offered for the 2003 Golf are light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I types. Such hitches have the capacity to carry only 2 bikes even if the carrier itself can hold more. With a Class I hitch you need to use a 2-bike Class I rack, such as one of those shown on the link provided.
