Intermitent Backing Problems with a Suge Coupler

can I overide the backing cylinoid on my trailer I have a surge disc system ?

You will need to check the coupler on your trailer. It may have a lockout system that can be activated manually or electrically when you are backing the trailer. A manual system requires that you get out of the vehicle and move a lever located on the coupler when you need to back the trailer. An electric system requires wiring at least a 5-Way connector and splicing into the vehicles tail light circuit so the brakes are deactivated when the vehicle is put into reverse.
